'' Russian paintings gallery Welcomeart.net has recently published the article, which is dedicated to the great painter Alexei Kondratyevich Savrasov. Now I would like to tell you a few words about this article. Alexei Savrasov was born on May 24th 1830 in a merchant family in Moscow. He was one of Russia’s most remarkable landscape painters, famous for his lyrical style and melancholic compositions. He was a strong influence for several later Russian landscape painters, such as Isaac Levitan and Konstantin Korovin.
Savrasov made several journeys to Europe, attending art fairs and exhibitions. In one of his journeys he met the work of John Constable, whose naturalistic style had a great influence in his works. His most famous work is "The rooks have returned". I must admit that Savrasov's landscape '' the Rooks Have Returned'' is best of all, really quite superb. The combination of simplicity and feeling is Savrasov's discovery. His picture evokes a unique sense of openness and delicacy. Melting snow, the glow of spring sunlight, the hustle and bustle of the rooks... it brightly captures my attention. No doubt!
This is not a rendering but a report on Savrasov!
